Inspiration Tuesday: Alice in Wonderland

March 9th, 2010

Now Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland is finally screened here in the Netherlands everybody is talking about her. So of course my inspiration Tuesday is all about Alice. Unfortunately I haven’t seen the movie yet but hopefully I will find some time (and tickets) next weekend. Did you know that in the Czech Republic Alice in Wonderland is called Alenka v Říši divů‘? My first name is Alenka, so I’m kind of named after Alice. Isn’t that fun!

Baking fun

March 4th, 2010

With another high tea party coming up this weekend I’m still in a baking mood. There are so many things about baking that are so much fun; the baking recipe books, the baking tools, the preparation (especially eating from the dough, yum!), the lovely smell, decorating it and of course the eating your freshly baked goods or give them to a loved one. Here are some items that illustrate the fun of baking.

 PetitPlat

Can you believe this preparation board is a 1/12 miniature? I think the work by PetitPlat (french for Little Plate) is just marvellous! There is so much detail in these small artworks made out of clay. Really amazing!

wildolive

I bet my grandmother’s recipes will look very good on this set of printable ‘A Baker’s Best’ recipe cards. It’s made by Wild Olive.

annabelsaprons

Another reason to bake… so you can wear aprons. This super cute one is an original design by Annabel’s Aprons. Her Etsy shop is filled with all kinds of aprons, yummy.

Like the little girl on this ‘Girl and cookie jar’ collage by Cabin I find it very hard to resist my homemade cookies. I love to steal them from my own cookie jar.

Inspiration Tuesday: Spring happiness

February 23rd, 2010

Bye bye winter and hello spring! That’s what I am hoping for at least. I have had it with the cold, snow and ice and I am ready for spring! Therefore I am so glad the temperatures are rising again and now the first snowdrops are popping out of the ground it looks like spring is finally on it’s way. The thoughts of spring are my inspiration for this fresh mosaic of handmade goodies.

Featured Friday: Knitting Dreams

February 19th, 2010

The adorable handmade amigurumi and miniature teddy bears by Knitting Dreams are on my Etsy wishlist for quite some time now. Her little teddies are very well made and I’m hoping to adopt one someday. But which one to choose? They’re all so cute!
