On April 30th it is Queen’s day in the Netherlands. On this day we celebrate our Queen’s birthday. And guess what, April 30th is my birthday too! A good reason to give away a little gift. This free printable is in Dutch.

Op 30 April viert Nederland weer Koninginnedag. Deze dag is altijd extra feestelijk voor mij want ik ben op deze dag jarig! Een goede reden dus om een kadootje weg te geven: een printvel met 10 Koninginnedag vlaggetjes.

Easter breakfast

No family Easter brunch this year but a cosy breakfast for two. Like every year we did the egg cracking game. Too bad, the weakest egg was mine but luckily I will have another chance next year. Happy Easter!

Bij Pasen hoort een gezellig Paasontbijt. Dit jaar even zonder familie maar lekker relax met z’n tweeën. En ook dit jaar mag een wedstrijdje eitje tikken natuurlijk niet ontbreken. Helaas had ik het zwakke ei maar volgend jaar weer een nieuwe kans. Fijne Pasen!

I’m always looking forward to decorate the home for Easter. This year I have a simple Easter tree with wooden eggs and some masking tape flags. I made the blue candle holder myself. I used this pattern from Wise Craft as a base, changed it a bit and added an extra color to it.

Ik kijk er altijd weer naar uit om voor de Pasen ons huis te versieren. Dit jaar heb ik eenvoudige paastakken met houten eitjes van de HEMA en vlaggetjes van masking tape. Het blauwe waxine- houdertje heb ik zelf gehaakt. Als inspiratie heb ik daarvoor dit patroon van Wise Craft gebruikt. Ik heb het iets aangepast en een extra kleurtje toegevoegd.

The last months I taught myself how to crochet and yesterday I finished my first project. Therefore I’m very proud to show you the granny square cushion I made for on our couch. And YES, I’m totally hooked now so this probably will be the first of many crochet projects.

Hi everybody! I’m back from hibernation. I’ve changed my blog layout and cleared out the archives. Also I have some new topics so lot’s of inspiration to blog about in the next few months. But first some color inspiration for you. Two colors you see a lot in my home; hot pink and grey.

DIY: Last minute Halloween candle holders

I started this tutorial two weeks ago but haven’t had the time to finish it. Luckily it’s a very simple and fast tutorial so it can be made withing half an hour and hopefully in time for your Halloween party. Happy Halloween!

Materials needed:
▪ mason jars in different sizes
▪ clue that’s suitable for glass and paper
▪ paper with a Halloween theme

Optional:
▪ iron wire
▪ tools to cut and bend the iron wire

Start with cutting the paper so it fits around the jar + some overlap on the back for gluing it together. Glue one side of the paper strip onto the glass, wrap the paper around the jar and glue onto the point where you started. Be sure the use the glue only on the backside of the jar, otherwise you will see the glue through the paper.

This is how simple it is, the Halloween light is already finished. As an extra option you can use the iron wire for making a hanging candle holder. Here is a good tutorial about how to make hanging jars.
